Black Tank Dress + 8 Classic Pendant Necklaces

So excited to share this outfit post because…well…aside from the fact that I never wear dresses… I found one dress from the Nordstroms website that I am obsessed with. It’s one item I have had my eye for a while now and I finally decided to take the plunge! I saw a girl on Pinterest wearing the exact same dress, with similar accessories and I was totally inspired to recreate this look. Love how this outfit turned out with all the mix of different neutrals. Since I bought this dress online I was real worried about the fit. I’m always real hesitant when it comes to buying clothing online, especially when it comes to dresses. Right when I put this on, it felt like it had been tailored for my body. It’s very figure flattering but sill simple enough to dress it up or down. You could easily layer this in the winter time like I did or just add some fun heels for a night out. Definitely a new staple piece in my wardrobe.

Shop the Look:

Dress: Nordstroms (exact) —- comes in 7 colors

Cardigan: Target (similar) (another option)

Boots: Target (similar)(lighter option) (splurge option)

Necklace: Stella & Dot (exact)—comes in silver & rose gold

To give you a better idea how this dress fits I am 5’3 & 1/2 ( and yes the half inch counts) and I’m curvy. So in most stores I typically wear a size 8. I am wearing a size medium in this dress and it fits perfectly. It’s tight enough in all the right places and the material is thick enough so it’s doesn’t look see through at all.

To add to this look I added my favorite pendant necklace from Stella & Dot. It’s one of those classic pieces that goes with just about everything. Below I added a few similar long pendant necklaces equally as chic that range in price from $12 to $120.

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner I wanted to put together a few dressy casual looks that are perfect for however your celebrating this year. I used a lot of basics to keep these outfits simple but still interchangeable with a few pops of color. Because of the crazy weather we are having with the cold, wind and crazy humidity I had to do mirror outfit selfies for this one.

In addition to these looks are some fun graphic tees that are perfect for Valentines day. All the links to shop are below.

To Amp up the Look: For this crazy weather another option to make this outfit a little warmer would be to add a fur vest.— I don’t have one at the moment, but it’s defiantly on my wish list.

Outfit: Cheetah Print

Nothing like a little cheetah print to lighten your day. Just got this sweater as an early birthday gift and I jumped at the chance to feature it in a blog post. Being that I live in central Texas my sweater collection is quite sparse, so this was a perfect addition to my wardrobe. Cheetah print is always a great way to add a little pattern to an outfit but still acts as a neutral. You can easily add a pop of color to the look to make it more interesting. I kept it real simple by adding a scarf and my much loved black boots and black Stella & Dot tote. Now all I hope for is that the colder weather would stick around for a while.

Outfit: Finally Boot Weather

I’m kicking out the start of a brand new week with a casual outfit of the day. Casual and comfortable I might add. I bought this navy jacket almost a month ago and I am just now getting around to wearing it. It’s finally cooling down here in central Texas, so I am ready to bust out my fall/winter wardrobe that’s been hiding in the back of my closet.

So for this look I paired this jacket with my favorite pair of ripped skinny jeans, a white tee, and some comfy grey boots. Keeping things neutral, I added silver jewelry to go with the cool tones in this outfit. I have to say I am completely obsessed with this jacket. It fits well, it’s flattering, and it’s light weight. I can tell I’ll be wearing this one a lot this season. 😉 To shop this look, check out the links below.

Outfit: Army Green + Floral Print

Happy Tuesday!! This has been one crazy week so far and it’s only Tuesday!! Right now everyone is sick in our household and we are trying to get back to normal from this crazy weekend. Still in shock over the devastation from Hurricane Harvey, and sending out many prayers for all those effected. I’m putting in a link here for the Red Cross if you are interested in donating to help those who were effected. Here were we live, all we had was rain, wind, and more rain for two straight days. So thankful that’s all we had. I’m happy that it’s over and appreciating all this sunshine we are having. 🙂

Switching to a lighter topic….today’s post, which is an outfit of the day. It’s super simple that I ended up putting together last minute and ended up loving the mix of army green with the floral print. This darker green color has been my favorite color to wear lately. If I go out shopping I seem to gravitate toward that color. It’s just one of those perfect neutrals that I think pair great with soft patterns or even lighter pink shades.

I added a simple jean jacket to give this outfit some structure but still making this look real casual. I’m obsessed with this denim jacket from target, it’s a dark wash that’s stretchy and so easy to throw on over anything. As in my last outfit post I’m wearing the same taupe booties from Lucky Brand that I can’t enough of. They’re comfy, not to high of a heel, and match everything. I don’t normally splurge on a lot of things but once in a while finding a good pair of shoes are worth the money. 🙂

Details of this look are all listed below with some similar floral tanks tops, ranging from $7.49 to $35.00. All affordable and great for  layering in the summer and transitioning into the fall season.

Although we are in the middle of summer and in 100 degree weather, I still choose to wear black, go figure. What can I say, I am defiantly a neutrals kind of a girl. I think most of my closet consists of black, grey, khaki, and a little bit of white. Another thing I am a sucker for besides neutrals, is a fun graphic tee. I paired this t-shirt with ripped skinny jeans, and my most loved wedges. When it comes to finding fun graphic tees, there are so many cools styles out there. From band logos, geometric designs, to ripped up styles, and even fun sayings.  It’s a really great way to add something unique to any outfit. They go so well with ripped jeans, shorts, or even as a cool layering piece under a jacket for the colder months. They really go with just about everything.

Below are some graphic tees that I am obsessed with, all for $40 or under, (minus the Pink Floyd tee)

Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas

It’s hard to believe Valentine’s Day is just around the corner!!
With the holiday in mind I wanted to put together what I like to call a “shop” post. Which means I find good deals and/or great buys to showcase to you guys on my blog. And today I am doing just that. I put together some of my favorite pieces from Stella & Dot that I thought would make excellent V-day gifts for a special someone or even for yourself. 🙂
For those of you who don’t know, I am a Stella & Dot stylist, which means I get to showcase this wonderful brand at party’s and on my website. In fact, I am not just a stylist but a fan as well. This brand has been around for a few years now and they have the best quality of products and a lot of one of a kind pieces. All the items mentioned range from $22 to $300.
Shop the links below or my link to my website to check out even more gorgeous stuff.
Happy shopping!

Outfit: Date Night

Nothing like a fun date night with the hubby to break in a new pair of heels. I’m a little obsessed with these!! I bought them on sale at a local boutique and now I want them in every color. Here is a link to the exact pair. They come in seven different shades (mine are in the shade “dark camel”). These heels are definitely far from my everyday flats and sneakers. When your day consists of chasing after a two year old, flats are your friend.
This top that I wore is from TJ Maxx and I bought months ago, but here is a link to a very similar version that I found from Zappos. My jeans are “my go to jeans” from Target that I got months back but here is a similar pair in a lighter wash. I wore this look with my favorite Stella & Dot pieces, the Arc necklace and the Renegade bracelet. I wear these two pieces almost everyday. They match just about everything. I also added my Kate Spade bracelet (here is a similar version) that I got for Christmas a couple years back. 🙂

Loving this colder weather. It took Texas a while, but it’s finally time to break out the winter clothes and boots.:) This outfit I have been wearing a lot lately, so I thought I would share, because it’s simple, comfortable and you can get it all in one place :). Like most of my closet this whole outfit (minus accessories) are from Target. It’s become my one stop shop for everything. Even with a toddler in tow, it’s the place I can go and get what I need and still shop for myself (which I don’t do often).
It’s so crazy how shopping for yourself changes so much when you become a mom. With a two year old, my shopping places have become… well… limited. If it doesn’t have a grocery cart in the front, we’re not going in. A shopping cart is a must for shopping with your toddler. It holds all your stuff, and helps keep them occupied for a successful mommy and me shopping trip. Even the prep time for shopping with a toddler is so different these days. Before I didn’t need much, just my money and maybe a cup of coffee. Nowadays I have to plan ahead for any shopping excursions we might have.

Here’s my short check list of things:
Diaper bag
Diapers & Wipes
Sippy Cup with her favorite drink
Snacks (a lot of them)
Change of Clothes
Small toys
My Phone Apps (in case of any tantrums)  Here is my daughters favorite app at the moment if your looking for good one that’s free!!

LEGO® DUPLO® Train

Let me know if you have any toddler essentials for a mommy and me shopping trip. 🙂
