One little tradition that I love doing with my 5 year old is the Elf on the Shelf, or as we like to call him “Chippy.” We have done this for the past two years, and I have to say, now that my daughter is a little older, it is so much fun to see her light up every morning to find where he is. Now if your family doesn’t have an elf or you don’t know the story here is the link to the book or the movie you can check it out, it explains it all.
It’s become such a phenomenon this time of year and parents really get creative with all the different ways to stage your Elf. I will admit we don’t get to crazy, but this year I wanted to change it up a bit. I put together cute little messages you can place with your elf, some are simple but a couple of them are more interacting with little games your kids will love. I also included a goodbye letter from your Elf when it’s time for them to leave on Christmas day.
To download just click the link or click the images to print. Cut them out and you have your very own little messages from your Elf. A couple of these notes are fun games that your kid can play. One is a little scavenger hunt for candy canes and the next is the skittle rainbow. If you haven’t tried it, you have to. It’s a fun little experiment that they will love. All you have to do is add hot water, picture below for the full effect.
